Multi-layer decorative laminate belongs to the class of decorative plastics based on thermosetting resins. These laminates have a multi-layer structure consisting of decorative paper impregnated with melamine resins and one or more layers of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resins. These layers are pressed together under high pressure and temperature.
The structure of the multi-layer laminate, the quality of the resins and paper, the surface texture, the use of special overlays, and the pressing parameters determine its properties and areas of application.
